The Little Paper

At a time of year we associate with wonder and surprise, it seems appropriate that The Little Paper is celebrating its fifth anniversary. I find it hard to believe that this little experiment in independent publishing can have survived and grown and become a part of the daily lives of so many Toronto parents. Our quality and tenacity and growth is entirely in our people. Over the last 60 issues, The Little Paper has evolved from lone woman with an ambitious idea to a diverse and dedicated team of mothers who must rank among the smartest, most efficient and kindest women in the city (oh, and Reed too!). It just makes sense that such an amazing group of moms put together a paper that resonates for parents.

Our reach has grown over the years, from a 16 page local community newspaper to a citywide publication, but we’ve always held fast to our desire to help parents celebrate and engage with their city. We try hard every month to provide a broad range of free and low cost activities, to seek out local and community-based organizations and events and to champion independent productions, local and small businesses and neighbourhood associations. We know that our readers and their families play a daily role in the transformation and enrichment of our city.

This December we’ll be launching a website and welcoming you back to The Little Paper Parents newsletter (we hear this Internet thing just might catch on) so we hope that you’ll visit us at www.littlepaper.com and continue to pick us up in print each month. Thank you all so very much. – Vicki
