With a little help from my friends... When the May 2006 Little Paper arrived about ten days ago, Fiona and I started thumping it into our cars for a long, two day distribution run. Coffees at our sides, clipboards on the passenger seats and, for me, a tattered Perly’s at the ready, we set off... An hour later, I was at Mothercraft on Heath Street with my heart in my throat. The beautiful May paper we had all worked so hard on, with my Pip on the cover and so much of Gillian and Christina’s time and attention between the covers was marked APRIL! Now, Little Paper readers are an extraordinarly clever bunch. We figured you would know it was a new issue but, oh, what if you didn’t???
So, five very kind friends, a few bottles of wine and a lot of inky fingers later, thousands and thousands of Little Papers emerged fully stickered for May and distribution began again. There are still a few “April” papers out there so, if you have one, hold on to it. Who knows, a rare, un-stickered April 2006 Little Paper might just be worth something one day :-)
Meanwhile, there’s a lot coming up over the next few weeks with Mother’s Day to celebrate, the long weekend to enjoy and an abundance of really neat things to do with your little ones. (See Upcoming Events in this newsletter for some quick ideas!) One of the things we hear over and over from Little Paper readers is how the paper helps them to meet other moms and dads and to share the experience of parenting with new and old friends.
This May 14th, I know I am particularly grateful for the many mommies in my life. In upcoming the June/July issue, you’ll find two great contests as well as the annual Get Wet Guide with a complete breakdown of parks, wading pools, splash pads and pools. Of course, we’ll also be delivering stellar coverage of summer camps and programs as well as weekly and special events.
So, pick us up and share The Little Paper with your friends (and have a very, very happy Mother’s Day!) – Vicki
