Will March Break find you close to home with a stretch of family time on the horizon? We’ve got some great suggestions for some local family adventures as well as our guide to March Break events and activities. On the website, you'll find March Break Camps and a guide to events and activities. Have a great month!
In the City
Queen West’s graciously-restored Gladstone Hotel is offering some interesting and affordable fare including a St Patrick’s Day Party on March 17th and an interactive African Village with Njacko Backo on the 18th. Experience the inner-workings of parliament for the day at the Ontario Parliament Buildings March Break Program.
Made for Kids
Hamilton and London boast Children's Museums with a full slate of March Break activities. Bound to the GTA, Ontario Science Centre’s Kidspark is the local alternative.
Tap into it
March and April are Maple syrup months. Step back in time and learn about the journey from sap to syrup at the Westfield Heritage Village Maple Syrup Festival. Also of note, Sweet Water Season at Crawford Lake and Mountsberg Maple Town.
Overnight Adventures
For the adventure-seeking family who loves nothing more than the great outdoors check out (the limited) heated Yurt availability at some of Ontario’s most-gorgeous provincial parks. For the equestrian, Wildwood Manor Ranch offers overnight accommodation with horse back riding, and even runs a March Break riding camp for kids. Then there’s always the kitsch value of a Niagara Falls getaway, ‘nuff said.

A little maple syrup advice:
A little maple syrup advice: Do the Kortright Centre, but avoid Bruce Mills Conservation area.
The former is a great walk in the woods and feels like an escape from the city. Interesting landscape, and spacious buildings for cooling your heels afterwards. Live music, too. And cool educational displays.
The latter feels kinda like a food court in a mall. There's a hot dog stand on the trail, for pete's sake. (Friendly staff, though.)
I'm a big fan of Mountsberg,
I'm a big fan of Mountsberg, with the caveat that the lineup for pancakes seems to take forever - have you been to Crawford?
