Conservation staff will identify waterfowl species, offer identification tips and demonstrate the habitat creation underway at this unique park. Dress warmly for the outdoors and bring binoculars and a bird field guide if you have them. In the event of extreme weather conditions on the day of the event, call the hotline for a notice of cancellation.

The JCCC can guarantee that spring will arrive early as they celebrate Haru Matsuri /Spring Festival! This year’s theme of Fans, is sure to be a wonderful inspiration! Haru Matsuri includes Japanese arts and craft booths and many cultural vendors. The JCCC’s martial artists will demonstrate more than 8 different disciplines. Entertainment runs continuously on the main stage. Japanese food will be available for purchase. Don’t forget to visit the children’s activity centre!

Explore the Mountsberg Sugar Bush to see how sap turns into syrup. Take in a maple candy making session, travel on a horse-drawn ride ($2/person) through the bush, see dramatic birds of prey demonstrations and stop by the Pancake Pavilion in the woods for a plate of flap jacks covered in pure maple syrup!

I took my 3- and 6-year old kids to the The Kortright Centre sugarbush extravaganza last year, and it was brilliant. This weekend will be perfect sap-running weather; the nights are cold and the days are warm.
