Power Kids Art Workshops in February

Sunday, February 10 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free
power plant family day 2019

The Power Plant at Harbourfront Centre hosts free art workshops for children ages 7-12 and each program begins with a tour of the gallery and concludes with an art activity, inspired by the ideas behind the current exhibition.

February 10 | Featured Faces

Alicia Henry’s Witnessing features abstract portraits made from cotton, linen, leather and wool. Inspired by Henry’s interest in portraiture and identity, participants in this workshop will learn how to draw portraits using traditional proportions, and then accessorize their 2D portraits with 3D elements such as fabric, zippers and buttons.

February 18 | Extraordinary Realms

The globe is a reoccurring motif in Shuvinai Ashoona’s work; it often depicts the connection between human beings, the earth and the universe. In this workshop, participants will use drawing and collage to decorate a mini 3D-globe depicting their own imaginary world.
