The Monkey Bunch kicks off the 2nd Annual Family Series at the Drake this Sunday. Skip the Superbowl and shake it with your kids instead!
Cindy and her daughter Paige, 3 years old
Cindy picks up her copy of the Little Paper at the Morse Street Public School Parent and Family Literacy Centre. The first thing she and Paige look at when they get the paper is the Citywide Special Events section to see what might be fun and exciting that they can do as a family and then check out the My Neighbourhood in the East section – Cindy likes to see if she knows the family in the photo.
Paige is currently taking a Hip Hop Class at the Riverdale Dance School. Mom and daughter also spend their weekday mornings at the Morse St Family and Parenting Centre. Paige has made many friends and so has Cindy; it’s nice because Paige will be attending JK in September at Morse St, and in the time spent at the drop-in, they’ve had a chance to meet parents, teachers and children in that community. Cindy and Paige hang out in their ‘hood at lil bean n’green café; a great meeting place for parents, caregivers and kids!
What will your family be doing during March Break? “It will be like every day until Paige starts going to school.”
How did you find out about the Little Paper?“…from my friend Catherine who lives in the neighbourhood. She’s the one who told me I could pick it up at Baby on the Hip and I was so happy when I picked up my first copy. It’s great to have so much information in one place that I can take from room to room to room.”
