Outdoor Skating on New Year’s Eve

Monday, December 31, 2018

toronto outdoor rink skating 2018

While most city rinks have posted times (see this handy chart for details), any rink without a fence is likely to be fair game after hours. We like Wallace Emerson, Sherbourne Common, Rennie and Riverside among others. Some rinks, like Kew Gardens are open until 10pm on the 31st and the skating trails at Dieppe, Greenwood, Rennie Park and Colonel Samuel Smith are a bit dark but otherwise great destinations for a little evening gliding en famille. Why not invest in some headlamps and make a regular thing of it!

Skate by the lake at Ontario Place on New Year’s Eve from 3-9pm. A bonfire and s’more kits are available from 4pm.

Down at Harbourfront, the Natrel rink is now open from 9am to 10pm on the 31st and you can buy hot drinks from Boxcar Social until 5pm.

Skating on The Bentway on New Year’s eve is open from 12pm to 9pm.

Evergreen’s Brick Works trail is open from 10am to 3pm on the 31st with s’mores available for toasting on the bonfire. Check here to confirm rink conditions.
