Rooks to Cooks | Dumpling Making

Whether boiled, fried, pan fried or steamed, these international pockets of flavour are delicious! At the delectable dumplings workshop your child will learn how to make vegetarian dumplings completely from scratch.
The workshop will kick off with a explanation and demonstration of how to prepare the dumpling dough. From there, students will individually make their own dumpling dough. Next, chef instructors will teach students how to prepare delicious vegetarian dumpling filling and will educate them on how to optimize taste and flavour through the use of seasonings and aromatics. Last, chefs will teach the group how to roll, fill and assemble various types of dumplings using different folding techniques. Students will then return to their stations to prepare their homemade dumplings. After their dumplings have been packed up, students will gather at the demonstration table to learn how to cook and serve the dumplings so that they can execute the cooking at home. At this point, students will get to taste the final product.
Following the workshop, each student will leave with 8 – 12 dumplings, ready to be cooked, along with a dumpling recipe card so they may recreate the magic at home.
For students ages 4-14. Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult.
